Advise
Some months you do not need anything built. You need someone who has built it to look at the quote in front of you and tell you whether it is worth the money.
This is probably you if
- You have vendors pitching you and no way to tell the real ones from the deck
- Someone internal is keen and you want them pointed in a sensible direction
- You are about to spend real money and want a builder to sanity check it first
- You want AI decisions made on purpose rather than one tool at a time
What you get
Time you can actually use
A standing call every month, and I answer email in between. Bring a quote, a problem, a half formed idea, or nothing at all.
Vendor sanity checks
Send me the proposal. I will tell you what it really costs to run, what they are quietly leaving out, and what to ask on the next call.
Killing the wrong projects
The most valuable thing I do some months is tell you not to build something. That is usually worth the retainer on its own.
A plan you can hold me to
A short written view of what is worth doing over the next couple of quarters, revisited when reality moves.
Where I have done this
Real systems, not scenarios. Open them if you like.
LocumHQ
Client workDoctors looking for short-term work and clinics looking to fill shifts, matched automatically instead of by phone tag. Clinics post, the site scores who fits, and the right doctors get emailed overnight.
Neighbourhood Now
My own productResidents report what they see in their neighbourhood, from a blocked sidewalk to a broken light, and it lands on a map alongside live police incident data for the city.
What it costs
$3K a month, three month minimum so there is time to be useful, then month to month. No lock in after that. If a build comes out of it, the advisory fee comes off the build.
Want a second opinion from someone who builds?
A call costs you half an hour. If I am not the right person for it, I will say so and point you somewhere better.
